Our Championship Bowling Greens are maintained in premium condition by a team of specialists – a lot of time, effort and expense goes into the preparation and maintenance of our Greens. We welcome visitors to our Club, but for your safety, enjoyment, and to maintain our facilities in premium condition for the Bowling Members and other visitors, there are a few rules and guidelines we would like you to follow when playing Bowls...

1. No food or drinks on Bowling Greens
Spilled drinks and food will kill the grass and stain the carpet surface, so please enjoy them on the green SURROUND. If you DO happen to break a glass or bottle, PLEASE ADVISE CLUB STAFF IMMEDIATELY SO A CLEANUP CAN BE DONE QUICKLY AND SAFELY.

2. Don’t DROP the Bowls
The Bowls are quite heavy – if you DROP one on the green, this will create a depression in the smooth playing surface and affect the playing experience of our Bowling Members. PLEASE TAKE CARE NOT TO DROP THE BOWLS on the Greens - OR ON THE PATHS as this will damage the Bowls.

3. Keep sand OFF the Greens
You will notice there is sand in the ditches around the Greens – this is used to cushion the Bowls. Please leave the sand in the ditches and do not allow children to play with it. To lift bowls out of the ditch, please stand on the Green, do not stand in the ditch.

4. Respectful Play
Please be courteous to neighbouring players. We know it is an irresistible temptation to wind-up from a long run up and SMASH those bowls at the other end, but we insist you EXERCISE CONTROL. The heavy Bowls can fly sideways on impact and do substantial damage to unwary players nearby.

5. Smoking
Please observe the NO SMOKING signs around the Greens.

6. Dress Rules
Upon entering the Club, all hats must be removed and shoes must be worn for your own protection. However, on the Greens, casual clothing and flat-soled shoes or barefeet are acceptable. The Club’s Dress Rules (displayed in the Club foyer) must be observed at all times within the Clubhouse. No singlets may be worn by males in the Club or on the Greens at any time.

7. Age Limits
The minimum age to participate in a game of Bowls is 12 years. Children UNDER this age are NOT ALLOWED on the Greens.

If you DO have children under 12, please supervise them closely and observe the following rules:

• Children must not be left unattended - they must be under the supervision of a responsible adult at all times

• Children are not permitted to play with the Bowls – they are very heavy and can easily cause injury

• Children are not permitted on the Greens or to play in the sand ditches around the greens (they are not sandpits).

They must remain on the area surrounding the Greens

• Children are not allowed in the Gaming/Bar areas of the Club

8. Weather
If it is raining on the day of your Bowls Party, please call the Club to confirm it will be going ahead. Planned Club Competitions will take precedence over Barefoot Bowls bookings. If your booking is cancelled, you may postpone or be refunded the BOWLS ONLY portion of your booking. You are welcome to enjoy the Club’s facilities and catered part of your booking as planned.

9. Warnings
We want everyone to enjoy their time at Easts Bowling Club. Should anyone in your group/party not abide by these rules, they will receive a FRIENDLY WARNING and the person who made the booking will be advised that a warning has been issued. FURTHER INFRINGEMENTS MAY RESULT IN TERMINATION OF BOWLS OR CANCELLATION OF THE WHOLE GROUP – there will be NO REFUNDS under these circumstances.

ANY CANCELLATION will be at the discretion of the BAREFOOT BOWLS SUPERVISOR.
